Project Integration Management Defines the initial scope, identifies and assigns a project manager, and commits organizational resources to the project. This will authorize the need for a project and it will provide the PM the authority to apply the organizational resources to the project activities. The charter also helps the PM to define the boundaries of a project, set clear objectives and expectations. Identifying the Stakeholders is the other process needed. Project Stakeholder Management For a successful projects Stakeholders need to be identified and continually analyzed as their interests, expectations, and influence will have a potential impact on the project success. Understanding these key players can help with future actions and can help with any push back or issues that may arise. I agree with you you have to continually gauge stake holders interest and their expectations as this can affect your stock price or even your Ceo's position. Identifying a project manager is just as important the person will lead the team and give direction on project completion and will ultimately be held responsible for the project. Over my 30 year career I have watch several projects start and falter because no one checked with the main approving authority before starting the project. The second part of the initiating process group is to clarify the basic purpose of a project and has a interest in the project going forward. The first process is develop charter project this where where define the project scope and identify the project manager which is very important. Identify stakeholders processes important because it gives the frameworks of the communication between the project managers and the stakeholders. This is the part of the process where the group receives approval to move forward with the project. The first process is Develop Project Charter and during this period the team defines the initial scope, identify a project manager, and commits resources to the project. After the scope, project manager, and resources are chosen this is when the developed charter occurs and formally authorizes the project and starts new projects. The next process is called the Identify Stakeholders and in this process the applicable stakeholders are identified and estimating what impact they will have and what their expectations will be. Understanding why a project charter is necessary and what is involved is great but understanding how important it is to communicate effectively with the stakeholders is just as important. Great post. Its principal purpose is to develop the project charter and identify stakeholders. To accomplish these tasks, one must receive the correct authorization, financing, and identification of all stakeholders. A project charter helps the project manager define the boundaries around a project to clear all expectations and objectives from the very beginning. Stakeholders and other essential constituents are involved in the communication to boost long-term project success and clarify initial and long-term goals. Phasing determinations are made so that a timeline and outcome benchmarks can be set in place. While taking place outside the official project boundaries, all funding sources should be set in place and approved before the project charter is delivered. A stakeholder is any person or organization that is actively involved in a project, or whose concerns may be affected positively or negatively by the performance of a project. The project manager must document relevant information for all identified stakeholders. This information may include the stakeholder’s interests, involvement, expectations, importance, influence, and impact on the project’s execution and any specific communications requirements. It is important to note that although some identified stakeholders may not require any communications, those stakeholders should be identified. You did a great post. It is important to not only have the authorization for the project itself, but to have the budget and financing set up before the project even begins is necessary and just as important. Also, you bring up how important it is to be actively involved with the stakeholders during the project. This is necessary for any project to be considered a success. The two outcomes of this process group are the project charter document and the stakeholder register.
