This announcement is an Annual Program Statement outlining our funding priorities, the strategic themes we focus on, and the procedures for submitting funding requests. Program Objectives: Strengthening our international partnerships on cybersecurity is a top priority for the United States. The world faces enormous cybersecurity challenges from both state and non-state actors. It is critical for the U.S.-Japan Alliance that both nations play a leading role in enhancing cybersecurity cooperation to address shared threats while promoting secure connectivity and a vibrant digital economy. The Embassy welcomes proposals that address cyber security issues in Japan by developing innovative strategies to foster improvements to both public and private sector cybersecurity capacity- building efforts; this may include programs that promote cybersecurity education, training, and workforce development globally to address current and future cybersecurity challenges, as well as Internet freedom.
