Week 4 Assignment: Essay - Play Analysis Your Name HUMN 303 Introduction to Humanities Chamberlain New Orleans Fall Session William Shakespeare is an English poet, known for may plays that are classified as romantic and comical. The Tempest, probably written in 1610, is said to be one of the last plays that Shakespeare wrote. Many of his poems and plays captured the audiences emotion as well as filled the audience with laughter. As time progresses, many of William Shakespeare’s plays are recreated and preformed throughout the world. At the Savage Rose Classical Theatre Company’s, The Tempest was performed in June 2014 and recorded. The staging seemed very simple. There are two staircases where characters can walk on and off of the stage in-between scenes. Right next to the stage is a platform that the main character, Prospero, can sit and stand throughout his performance. The lighting was dark throughout the play to produce a sense of wonder.
